Work on the restoration of the Strahov choir organ is in full swing. The first pictures from the Orgelbau Waltershausen organ workshop show the quality of the craftsmanship, care and love with which the new carving elements of the organ are being created.
The restoration of the Strahov organ began with the construction of an instrument for the choir organ in the workshop of organ builder Joachim Stade in Waltershausen, Germany, in cooperation with organ builder and restorer Boris Mettler. They specialise in building, repairing and restoring pipe organs and will apply their deep knowledge of historical organ building to the restoration of the organ for Strahov Basilica. They are proceeding according to plan and in accordance with the approved project.
The company has spacious workshops and assembly halls, a workshop for metal pipes and an intonation room. It is equipped with everything necessary for the restoration and construction of organs of all sizes, including the production of pipes. The production is purely manual, there is no mass production or fixed types. The Strahov organ is in good hands.
Please support the restoration project so that the work in the workshop does not stop and we can look forward to the first notes of the new organ together. Thank you for your support.
